Getting to Williamsburg…
Easily accessible by Interstate 64, Williamsburg’s convenient East Coast location is just 150 miles south of Washington D.C., midway between Richmond and Virginia Beach. But you don’t have to drive, you can choose to fly into one of three international airports, or enjoy the train or bus.
By Plane :
There are several flights daily into three nearby airports: Newport News/Williamsburg International Airport (PHF) (20 minutes), Norfolk International Airport (ORF) (45 minutes), or Richmond International Airport (RIC) (45 minutes)
By Train:
Amtrak serves the Williamsburg Transportation Center with a connecting train from Washington, DC. The center is just blocks from William & Mary and Colonial Williamsburg transportation center and offers car rentals and taxi service.

Public Transit:

The Williamsburg Area Transportation Authority provides safe, efficient, and accessible transit to residents and visitors in the Williamsburg area, including public bus transportation, rental, and taxi car services, Amtrak rail service, and Greyhound bus service. The center is open daily from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Uber/lyft
Around Williamsburg we suggest scheduling an Uber by using the ‘Schedule’ tool on the app, or plan the ride with enough advance to wait 15-20 minutes for a car. Uber drivers can be few and far between in this area.
From the different airports, you can expect to pay with Uber/Lyft:
