Between May 9th and 11th 2025, the North American Theoretical Archaeology Group (TAG) invites you to their annual conference hosted by the Department of Anthropology at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. The second oldest institution of higher education in the United States, W&M offers an ideal location to discuss, present, and complicate the entangled history of archaeology in both civic discourse and community engagement.

Concurrent sessions at the new Arts Quarter:

The department of Anthropology is happy to announce that TAG 2025 will be held at William & Mary’s new Arts Quarter. This brand new complex opened in fall 2023 and will provide state-of-the-art rooms for all our concurrent sessions.

Friday Night Reception at the Muscarelle:

The Friday night reception at TAG 2025 will be held at the recently renovated Muscarelle Museum of Art. The Muscarelle Museum of Art, located at Lamberson Hall on the campus of William & Mary, is a culturally rich art institution that has provided an invaluable platform for local and global artists, students, and researchers. After our plenary session and opening ceremony, the Muscarelle Museum atrium and gallery will receive the conference group from 7:30 to 9 PM. Heavy appetizers and a selection of wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.

Saturday Night Party at Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall

TAG W&M will host the traditional Saturday night party in the atrium of the brand new Phi Beta Kappa Hall Memorial Hall in the recently inagurated Arts Quarter. Drinks and snacks will be served!
